The big question since the start of training camp has been who's going to be getting the starting job as Buffalo Bills quarterback.  Would it be the team's Number One draft choice?  Would it be the free agent they signed to a two-year, $10-million contract?  Or would it be a holdover from last year's team?

Amazingly, it's the holdover from last year's team.  Coach Sean McDermott announced on Monday that Nathan Peterman will be the Bills starting quarterback when the Bills open the season this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.  Peterman deserves it.  He was the better of the three quarterbacks this summer and it was evident from the first week of training camp.

Peterman was a 5th round draft pick by the Bills last year and no one will ever forget his disastrous first career start when he threw five interceptions in the first half against the Los Angeles Chargers.  It was an incredibly embarrassing day for Peterman and the Bills, but he's better than that and he's been showing it this summer.

Meanwhile, 7th overall draft pick this year, Josh Allen will be the backup.  He's got a strong arm and lots of potential, but he needs some seasoning.  There should be no doubt though that he is the Bills quarterback of the future.

The Bills will go with just two quarterbacks to start the season after AJ McCarron was traded to the Oakland Raiders on Saturday in exchange for a fifth round draft pick next year.
