New York City has been stereotyped with mean drivers for years.  But if you want to find the worst drivers, they'll be in a different part of the state.

How many times a day do you get cut off?  Maybe you find someone turning without a signal or driving recklessly through your neighborhood.  Thankfully, there are some good drivers on the roads in New York but there are some downright awful ones too.

Lending Tree did a study to find the city with the worst drivers in the state of New York.  They broke it down by looking at the number of incidents per 1000 drivers in each city.  Incidents could include speeding tickets, at-fault accidents, DUIs, or other violations. They found data on the best and worst drivers by city, age group, and even which car brands have the worst drivers in the state.

Which city had the worst drivers in New York?

According to this study, the city with the worst drivers was easily Schenectady.  With 10.6 "incidents" per 1000 drivers, they took the top spot.  Binghamton was second on the list with 9.  Rounding out the top 5 was White Planes, Albany, and Ithaca respectively.

The best drivers were in Rome

All they had to do to find the best drivers was to look at the opposite side of the study.  The cities with drivers with the least amount of incidents were then considered the state's best drivers.  Starting at the top was Rome, Freeport, New Rochelle, Spring Valley, and then Rochester.

They also determined that Gen Z'ers were the worst drivers and people who drive Rams were also ones to watch out for.
