Thanksgiving is almost here, which means you'll be looking to purchase a turkey. What are the costs like in Western New York?

There are mixed reports about the costs of Thanksgiving and turkey prices this year. Last month saw a significant increase in turkey prices ahead of Thanksgiving, but this month, we're seeing some pretty hefty discounts on the birds. While one article reported the costs were up last month, sales and discounts have kicked in for November, drastically dropping the prices.

For the featured dish, though, what can you expect to pay in Western New York?

I went to the websites and apps of several popular spots in the area to see what the costs were for a 10-14-pound frozen turkey. I did NOT use Instacart (or like apps) to find pricing as they are always up-charged on that app. Some stores do not list their price online, so if you see one missing, that could be why. Also, keep in mind loyalty card members get discounts for some of these. Always check your store before making assumptions. Just because it's not online doesn't mean it's not cheaper in-store or has other options not listed.

I looked for the cheapest frozen turkey I could find online, a minimum of 10 pounds, and here's what I found.
