To those of us that have lived in Western New York, this should not come as a surprise.

We all love our Wegman's.  When I find myself traveling to other parts of the country and going into their grocery stores, they all just seem to pale in comparison.  I'm not sure what it is that makes Wegman's so special (Although their Chicken Finger Subs are amazing), but Wegman's employees are surely a big part of it.

And for a 25th straight year, the Rochester-based grocery store chain has landed on Fortune Magazine's best companies to work for list.

Wegman's Food Markets Inc., which was founded in 1916, currently has 106 stores in the mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions and has plans to expand into Connecticut, Delaware, and Washington DC.

Wegman's has made it onto the Fortune top 100 companies to work for list, every year since the list was first introduced back in 1998.  They currently sit inside the top 10 on this year's list alongside national heavyweights American Express, Cisco, Hilton, and Rocket Mortgage.

The rankings are based on a 60 question employee survey, that targets camaraderie fairness, respect, and trust.  Fortune magazine surveyed over 4.5 million current US employees for the 2022 edition of the list.

Wegman's President and CEO Colleen Wegman said via a press release:

Our philosophy has always been to take care of our people, so they can take care of our customers...It is extremely inspiring how our employees rise to every occasion to help others, beginning with each other...We celebrate this award and honor with our entire family of 50,000!
