Bills kicker Tyler Bass has struggled, and now it looks like the team is looking at other options.

Bass is just 2 of 5 between 40 and 49 yards this season and 9 of 12 overall. He missed a brutal extra point in the Bills win over the Jets. Fans have been clamoring for the Bills to make a move, and it appears that the Bills are looking at their options.

As reported on X, the Bills are working out kicker Harrison Mevis.

Mevis is nicknamed "the Thiccer Kicker" as he is 5'11" tall and nearly 250 pounds. He is an undrafted free agent out of the University of Missouri. He kicked a 61-yard game-winning field goal to beat then 15th ranked Kansas State in 2023. It is the longest field goal in SEC history.

In his final college season, he only hit 8% of his field goals, but it is worth noting. The hash marks in the college game are much wider than in the NFL, making kicks trickier. He had a career 84% and make all but 1 extra point in 149 tries.

Buffalo Bills Adding Second Kicker to Roster?

Wy the headline says adding, not moving on from Bass, is the Bills would have to take an over $7 million dead cap hit if they release Bass. They could trade him, though that' a lot easier said than done.

What they likely would do is bring Mevis, or another kicker, in to compete with Bass and perhaps even play him, but leave Bass on the roster and try to fix him. The financials are simply too big a factor to cut him.
