Buffalo Restaurant Vandalized, Western New York Steps Up To Help Owner

A new and popular eatery in Buffalo was the recent victim of vandalism. Still, some Western New York community members stepped up and helped the owner recover from some of the damage quickly.

Crazy Good Eatz, a new restaurant that opened on Main Street in the Delavan/Hospital neighborhood of Buffalo earlier this year found itself in danger of having to be closed for a few days after a number of windows in the front of the store were broken by a man who was observed throwing all sorts of objects into the restaurant in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 5, 2022.

In a post on Facebook, the owner of the restaurant Shetice Jackson noted that the restaurant would be closed due to the damage.

It appears that officers from the Buffalo Police Department were able to locate and arrest a suspect in the act of vandalism. Ms. Jackson noted that the person arrested, according to police investigators, has a history of mental illness and it appears the attack on the restaurant was a random act of violence. Nothing was stolen from the store, nor was any of the equipment inside the restaurant damaged.

In a later Facebook post showing a video with the broken windows now boarded up, Jackson noted that she has received a large outcry of love and support from the Buffalo community.

It appears that love and generosity are helping because the restaurant has plans to reopen on Tuesday, November 7, 2022.
