If you attend Buffalo Sabres hockey games I hope you go for the food, or the in-game promotions, or between period entertainment, or just socializing with friends.  I hope you're not going to see winning hockey because the Sabres aren't providing it.

Tuesday night against the Boston Bruins the Sabres played well enough defensively.  Robin Lehner allowed just one goal.  That should be good enough for most hockey teams to win a game especially when they're playing in front of their home crowd.  But not this bunch.

The Bruins scored their first goal in the second period, then added two more into an empty net after Lehner was pulled for an extra attacker.  The Bruins won 3-0 to hand the Sabres their 12th loss in 16 games at KeyBank Center this season.  It's also the third time they've been shut out at home.

The Sabres came out strong in the first period, but let the Bruins take over the game in the second period and it paid off for them.  The Sabres spent the rest of the game chasing the puck.

There's no chemistry on this team.  And it's obvious there are changes that have to be made.  Other than perhaps Eichel and Ristolainen, and Okposo who has a no-trade clause, any player on this team could be moved for a bag of pucks just to shake things up.  I'm sick and tired of the same excuses after games.  They just don't sound like they hate losing as much as the fans do.

And don't blame the coaching.  We've already gone down that road.  Since the departure of Lindy Ruff, the likes of Ron Rolston, Ted Nolan and Dan Bylsma have come and gone.  It's the players who are to blame.  They've got to figure it out.  It doesn't look they're even close.
