CDC Recommends No Gatherings of 50+ For At Least Eight Weeks
The latest update from the Center For Disease Control has arrived, and they are currently recommending no gatherings of 50+ for at least the next eight weeks.
Per the CDC:
Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States via travelers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities. Examples of large events and mass gatherings include conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies.
You can read the full list of guidance points here. Any events or gatherings, regardless of size, should continue to adhere to the previous guidelines on hand hygiene, social distancing and protecting older adults and those with compromised immune systems.
As things stand, we are unlikely to see sporting events, concerts, festivals or large-scale gatherings resume until mid-May at the very earliest.
