JACK Flip’s Food Bank of WNY and The American Legion the Bird
After JACK FM Flipped you the bird. We still had a bunch of Turkeys left over
Instead of using them for our own personal obesity, we did the right thing and gave them to some people who could actually use them this winter. The Food Bank of WNY and The American Legion.
One of the JACK FM staffers (who does a lot of work with The American Legion) even wrote this little ditty for us. Thanks Gibbs, you save our finger from typing more than necessary.
929 JACK FM and Camillio’s Sloan Supermarkets reach out to The American Legion this Thanksgiving
Written by Kristen Gibbs
Joe Covlin and Dean Sarago from 92.9 Jack FM in Buffalo NY reached out to Past Sons of The American Legion Vice National Commander Doc Gibbs to see if they could be of service in lending a helping hand to New York State veterans in the Buffalo community this Thanksgiving. The response was an overwhelming YES in the Western New York Community! Over 300 dollars’ worth of turkeys were donated by Camillo’s Sloan Supermarket in Sloan NY and 92.9 Jack FM.
The turkeys were delivered by Past National Vice Commander Doc Gibbs and his daughter Kristen Gibbs, a past District Eight Chairman and employee of Jack FM and Townsquare Media to Commander Mark Wilson of the Hamburg Post # 527 and Commander Henry Curtis III of the Jesse Clipper Post #430 both in need for the care of veterans. Commander Wilson will be using them for 36 needy baskets to be handed out to veterans and their families for Thanksgiving. Commander Curtis III will be using them for urban community outreach for Thanksgiving dinners provided to local veterans. All 160 pounds of turkey will provide a little Buffalo-Love to our Western New York veterans.
