The Buffalo Bills are getting closer to the start of the 2021 regular season, which will start on Sunday, September 12th against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.

However, there is one preseason game remaining, which will be played this Saturday at 1 pm in Orchard Park against the Green Bay Packers.

Bills fans and the media were wondering just how much playing time starters would get (if any) and head coach Sean McDermott gave us that answer.

According to McDermott, Josh Allen will play against the Packers this Saturday, as will a majority of the starters.

McDermott said that he doesn't know exactly how long they would play, but gave a broad estimate of anywhere from one play to the first series of the second half.

It will be the first game action Allen and many of the starters will have this preseason.

Some players are not likely to play.

McDermott said both wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie and cornerback Taron Johnson are dealing with injuries that are said to be "day-to-day" or 'week-to-week." McDermott doesn't expect either player to be out long-term.

McKenzie hurt his shoulder when he was hit by veteran safety Jordan Poyer in practice earlier this week. McKenzie was seen wearing a sling the next day on the practice field.

The biggest key for the Bills is "do not get hurt."

It will be good to get a rhythm going and carry that into September, but I'm sure the coaching staff and general manager Brandon Beane are most concerned about any potential injuries, especially for a team that has recently been bitten by the injury bug this last week or two in camp -- albeit, minor in nature.
