The Bills are about to play in the franchise's first AFC Championship game in 27 years. They take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at 6:40 p.m. at Arrowhead Stadium.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been the biggest reason the Bills are where they are and his family has been rooting him on every step of the way. However, Josh's dad will not be at the AFC Championship game this Sunday.

According to the LA Times, Josh's dad Joel will miss the game because he's recovering from COVID-19 and pneumonia, which led to him being hospitalized this month.

Usually, Josh's parents LaVonne and Joel fly every weekend to see their son play. Josh's mom LaVonne will make the trip to Kansas City, along with fellow family and friends from Josh's hometown of Firebaugh, California.

It's pretty amazing we learned nothing about this until now. Josh Allen doesn't want added attention on his personal life but he's had a difficult past few months. Josh's grandmother Patricia passed away a few months ago. It led to the Patricia Allen Fund being created at the Oishei Children's Hospital after fans donated more than $300,000 in Patricia Allen's honor.

It's been an incredible season for the Bills and a breakout season for Allen. Win or lose tomorrow, the Bills fanbase will be behind him and we're wishing his dad a speedy recovery.
