The all-pro linebacker is recovering from another injury, but this signals that he may return to the field sooner than some thought.

Matt Milano is a major difference maker for the Buffalo Bills' defense, which is an understatement. Every team in the National Football League covets his ability to cover the entire field and make game-changing plays. There's just one problem: Milano can not seem to stay on the field.

That's not his fault, of course. Injuries have plagued #58 since taking over the starting role in 2018. In fact, he has not played a full season since then.

Milano was coming back this season from a broken leg he sustained and looked to be good to go when training camp opened. Then he tore his bicep.

It's a significant injury that can easily end a player's season. At the earliest, Milano was expected back by December. That's likely still the case, though head coach Sean McDermott has never set an official timetable.

Why he *might* be getting close to return is where he was seen last week, and going into this week's Baltimore Game: on the sideline.

Mild tears of the bicep can take 10 weeks to heal. It's been around 7 weeks since his injury, meaning he could be gearing up for a comeback faster than some thought. I'd expect the Bills to be cautious, even if he is ready, as a healthy Matt Milano joining a team that is already excelling on defense without him would make them even more dangerous down the stretch of the regular season.

That defense clearly needs him back after they were manhandled by Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
