Fans of the Buffalo Sabres no doubt are familiar with the famous calls of longtime play-by-play man Rick Jeanneret.  From "Back to Where Jimmy Hoffa Is!" to "Top Shelf, Where Momma Hides the Cookies", RJ has been delighting Sabres fans since he first started calling games in 1971 on the radio, eventually adding TV duties in 1995.

And this week, Western New York hockey fans will have a chance to meet the man himself, here in Buffalo.

The Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino will be hosting a special Meet and Greet event with Sabresbroadcasting legend Rick Jeanneret, this Thursday (2/20/22O) from 5-6 pm, before the Sabres game versus the Columbus Blue Jackets later that night at the KeyBank Center.

You can find RJ near the signature tree sculpture located in the middle of the casino’s floor.

Seneca Gaming Corporation President & CEO Kevin Nephew said via a press release:

Rick Jeanneret has made hockey come alive for generations of hockey fans...His legendary calls are a foundational part of the history of professional hockey in Buffalo, and are known throughout the sport. We’re thrilled to give local fans the chance to meet him as he completes his amazing career after 51 seasons.

Jeanneret has seen it all here in Buffalo. From the glory days of the French Connection to his famous call of the “May Day” playoff goal.  In fact, the only thing in Sabres history that he has missed is the team's inaugural season, which was called by Ted Darling, and a then-unknown Dave Hodge, who the next year left to become the host of Hockey Night in Canada.

So head on out, and meet the man behind the mic, Rick Jeanerette, this Thursday.  The Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino is located at 1 Fulton St, in downtown Buffalo.
