Good news for students looking to learn more about theater this summer; Shea's is hosting in-person summer programs.  According to its website, all activities will include appropriate distancing and follow COVID-19 protocols.

 

Shea's Summer Musical Theatre Intensive Summer Program - FULLY ENROLLED

Shea's Summer Musical Theatre for students in grades 5 through 12 will take place July 5 through 15, 2021, on weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm. There is a $300 fee, but financial aid is available. The program will teach students about acting, dance and voice. They will create their own musical, which they will perform in front of an audience on the stage at Shea's.

The Actor's Edge: Acting Methods Summer Program at Shea's Buffalo

The Actor's Edge will take place from July 19 to 30, 2021. It will be held on weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm. Students in grades 9 to 12 can participate. There is a $300 fee, but financial aid is available.

Experienced students will study acting and movement styles from the teachings of Chekhov, Meisner, Linklater, Suzuki, Boal, and others. Participants will complete an Artist Statement and analyze a monologue of their choice. The program will end in an actor’s showcase in Shea’s 710 Theatre for an invited audience. ~ Shea's Buffalo

The Actor's Edge 2.0: Cross-Cultural Storytelling Summer Program

The Actor's Edge 2.0 will take place from August 2 through 6, 2021 on weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm. Youth in grades 9 through 12 will be able to participate. The fee is $150, but students can apply for financial assistance.

Experienced acting students will study world performance styles such as Puerto Rican Bomba, West African Griot Storytelling, and Italian Commedia dell’arte. Students will also explore unique performance methods such as soundpainting and spoken word poetry. The week will culminate in a peer-sharing showcase.~ Shea's Buffalo
