The Most Popular Christmas Song In New York State
There are a ton of things that we can't agree on around the Holidays. When to put up the tree and lights. Politics. Christmas music. Just to name a few. It also seems that when it comes to what time is best to start playing Christmas Music, the topic is up for debate. According to a recent survey by FinanceBuzz, 50.06% of Americans say that you should start listening to Christmas music after Thanksgiving.
But we are full-on into holiday mode now, with Christmas on top of us at the end of this week. So let's dissect the Christmas Music just a bit further. We all have our favorite holiday tunes. The modern classic "Do They Know It's Christmas" from Band-Aid is always in high rotation around my house.
And a Christmas season isn't complete without hearing "Christmas in Hollis" from Run-DMC.
But just what is the king of the hill when it comes to Christmas songs in New York State?
Well, there's a study for that. FinanaceBuzz did a study that was based on 5 years’ worth of Google trends search data for Billboard’s top 25 highest-charting holiday songs from Christmas week 2020. What did they find? Let's take a look.
- “Feliz Navidad” is the top choice in the USA, as it was the most popular song among 11 states
- “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow,” takes the second spot, clocking in as a favorite in eight states
-“It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” are tied as the third-most-popular Christmas songs, as each was the favorite in four different states.
But what about here in the Empire State? The honor goes to the timeless Andy Williams classic "Happy Holiday/The Holiday Season"
