Let’s face it, there hasn’t been much at all to be excited about when it comes to Buffalo Sabres.

The team has missed the postseason for 10 consecutive seasons and have finished last multiple times over the course of those 10 years. The last time the Sabres won a playoff series was against the New York Rangers in 2007.

Theres expected to be many roster changes this summer and while that remains to be seen, we now know who and when the Sabres will be playing.

The NHL released the full 2021-2022 regular season schedule and the Sabres will be opening the season at home against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, October 14th.

In fact, the Sabres will be playing their first four games at KeyBank Center and unlike last season, it will be in front of fans.

The first road game will be at the New Jersey Devils on Saturday, October 23rd.

If you’re looking forward to the Sabres playing the expansion Seattle Kraken, you won’t have to wait long. The Sabres travel to Seattle to play the Kraken on Wednesday, November 4th — less than one month into the season.

The first home against the Toronto Maple Leafs will be Saturday, November 13th. Another notable game will be at home against the Boston Bruins, the night before Thanksgiving, which is always a traditional party night in Buffalo.

It looks like a pretty favorable schedule, especially that four-game home stand to start the season.

The team itself, however…well, we will see about that.
