Buffalo has been the home of many people who have had an impact on our world.

Often that impact happens after people have moved away from the area.

However, in recent years, Buffalo has seen a resurgence of people moving into Western New York. In fact, many of the people who are migrating to Buffalo are people who were originally from the area but left for whatever reason.

Like most rust-belt cities, for many years Buffalo was losing tons of population due to the decline of the economic prospects in the area. The 2020 US Census has shown that Buffalo has had a net increase in population for the first time in nearly 60 years.

This is great news for those of us who have stuck it out in Western New York.

More people means more variation and diversity in our neighborhoods, and potentially better job prospects because there are better business opportunities to draw in more candidates. More people in our community means additional growth in small businesses.

Given all of these good things, have you ever found yourself asking someone who recently moved to Western New York why would you move to /back to Buffalo?

I know I have asked that question on more than one occasion, and I finally think I have found the potential answer(s) to that question.
