Buffalo just opened a new library. You won't be borrowing books from this one but parents are going to love it nonetheless.

You've heard of a regular library with books. You may have even heard of tool library where people borrow tools. But have you ever heard of a toy library? This idea is brilliant.

Buffalo opens its first toy library

As kids, one of the best ways to learn is through play. Toys can often help with that. The goal of the Buffalo Toy Library is to offer "an equitable, accessible, and joyful space for children and families to grow and play together."

They've got a play space where kids can come and play with toys for free.  They've also got a membership option where parents can pay to borrow toys that they can then take home and play with outside of the library.

They're located at 2929 Main Street in Buffalo right inside the Valvaere Collective, upstairs from Seven Hearts Coffee Co.

A Toy Library is a brilliant idea

This concept is brilliant on multiple levels.  First, it gives kids the opportunity to play with some toys that they might not have had the option of playing with before.  Also, as a parent, it keeps you from having to pay much more for toys that your child will play with for a small amount of time and then never touch again.

And don't worry about cleanliness.  They have strict guidelines that they follow to make sure the toys are cleaned before they're checked out.
