Week twelve of the 2025 NFL Season kicked off on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with the 7-3 Buffalo Bills taking a business trip down to Houston to face the 5-5 Texans at NRG Stadium.

The Bills, coming off a huge win at home against Tampa Bay, are looking to extend their winning ways while trying to keep pace in the AFC East with the New England Patriots, while the Texans are fighting to get in position for a potential wild-card slot in the playoffs later this year. To say this game has big implications for both teams is an understatement.

The game got off to a fast start for the Bills as the team's defense forced the Texans' offense into a 3-and-out on their first drive. On the ensuing drive for Buffalo, the Bills got some good early action as James Let That Man Cook scampered 45 yards for the first touchdown of the game.

Not only was that score the 8th of the season for Cook, but he also has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark this year, his third straight season.

Houston kicked a 1st quarter field goal, which was followed by a 44-yard second-quarter field goal from Matt Praeter, which gave the Bills a 9-3 lead. The team held that lead until Davis Mills tossed a 2-yard touchdown pass to Christian Kirk to give the Texans a 10-9 lead.

The Bills started to drive at the end of the second quarter until Josh Allen threw his 8th interception of the season to Houston's Callen Bullock. That turnover led to a second Ka'imi Fairbairn field goal, giving the Texans a 13-9 lead.

Just when you thought the Bills were in trouble, the Special Teams stepped up as Ray Davis took the ensuing kickoff 97 yards to the house for a kick return touchdown. The sweetest part of that score for Davis is that November 20th marks his 26th birthday.

The second half of the game moved a lot more slowly for both teams as injuries started to hit both teams. However, the players going to the tend and to the back weren't limited to players, as even game Referee Adrian Hill was carted off the field. Roy Ellison, the game's Umpire, had to step up to cover both the Referee and Umpire positions.

The only points that were scored in the third quarter came from Houston as Ka'imi Fairbairn kicked his third field goal of the season, giving the Texans a 23-16 lead.

The Bills struggled to move the ball and gain any traction against the Texans' defense in the second half. The team was able to muster enough offense to get Matt Prater in position to kick a 38-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. The Texans, who were able to get 8 sacks on Josh, coupled with several injuries on both sides of the ball, were in a great position to win the game.

The Bills started a last-minute drive, but were not able to wrap things up in Houston as Josh Allen threw a last-minute fourth-down interception, his 9th of the season, with just a few seconds left on the clock.

This loss in Houston is the second straight in NRG Stadium.
