After growing up in Alaska and moving around the country for 15 years, I landed in Rochester in 2010 and moved to Buffalo in 2018. Outside of work, I like to keep active playing racquetball, running, hiking, biking, and golfing in the summer. I need to do all of that with all the great food here in Western New York. No, before you ask, it’s not dark in Alaska (everywhere) 24 hours a day or light for that long. You have to be above the arctic circle for that to happen. I grew up in Anchorage, well south of that. Yes, I saw all sorts of wildlife hanging out in my backyard, from moose to bears and bald eagles. No, I have no desire to go back. Ever. 26 years was enough for me, thanks. I love living in Buffalo with all the great restaurants, things to do (here and within driving distance), and the people. This truly is the city of good neighbors, and it shows.

You see them everywhere, in every part of the city and every neighborhood; Buffalo's Murals. With over 130 at last count and more going up all the time, they're hard to miss. It's called "You Are Not Alone," and its focus is mental health. The timing is perfect because May is Mental Health Awareness month.
Pride Makes Guys Do Stupid Things
I'm convinced there are a lot more stupid, self-inflicted injuries than anyone is admitting, because whatever happened to them, they didn't feel was manly enough or cool enough. Pride. Do we ever really overcome it?
5 Simple Rules for Busting Balls
If you're not familiar with the term, ballbusting (among guys) is joking with/messing with/teasing them in a good-natured way. No harm is meant, no one is serious; it's all in good fun. But, it's something that, not all guys who do it or deal with it know there are rules.
