An Erie County health clinic that's located in Buffalo's Emslie Neighborhood and services many residents of the City of Buffalo and Erie County was forced to close its doors due to a bomb threat that was left on a note outside of the clinic.

In a tweet from Erie County Mark Poloncarz, he announced that threat was made to the Jesse Nash Health Clinic that's located at 608 William Street, just a few blocks east of Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo in the morning hours on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.

The health clinic was evacuated by officers from the Buffalo Police Department and the NFTA Police, while officials from the Erie County, along with deputies from the Erie County Sheriff's Department K9 and Bomb Squad, immediately began a search of the building with bomb-sniffing dogs.

After an extensive search, officials determined that there was not a bomb on-site, however, the decision was made to keep the clinic closed for the rest of the day.

This is just another threat that has occurred in Buffalo since 10 people were killed at the Tops Market on Jefferson Ave, which is just 2 miles away from this clinic.

A man was arrested after allegedly threatening a local pizzeria and saying the place would be shot up like the Tops on Jefferson. While another series of threats were made towards several Buffalo and Western New York businesses where the implication that Black Buffalonians were in danger.

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown made a very clear statement that there will be serious consequences for those who continue to terrorize members of our community:

Law enforcement at every level, federal, state, Buffalo police, Erie County sheriffs are following up on every social media threat, every telephone threat. Already in the last two days, two people have been arrested for making those threats. District Attorney John Flynn and U.S. Attorney Trini Ross made it quite clear that people making those threats will be found, they will be arrested, and they will be prosecuted.
