Another Snow Squall Heading Our Way In WNY

It was quite a sight in Western New York early this morning. You may have been woken up by the thunder outside.

That's right, we experienced thunder snow in Western New York and it's because of a snow squall that whipped across the region around 7 am this morning. It brought heavy snow and poor visibility. In fact, the visibility was so bad for a brief time, it was impossible to drive through. I couldn't even see outside my bedroom window.

There's another round of snow on the way, and yes, it's another snow squall.

According to the National Weather Service, another snow squall will hit northern Western New York this afternoon. It should be before 2 pm and bring high impact snow and poor visibility.

Snow squalls are dangerous because they produce so much snow in such a short period of time. Even though they may not last very long, they cause extremely poor visibility and makes for hazardous travel conditions. Early this morning, there were quite a few accidents reported, because of the snow squall that came through here.

The good news is the temperatures should increase into the 40's for your Sunday and Monday. It will even be in the mid-50's by Tuesday, but then we get yet another weather system by mid-week next week. That could produce rain and snow for Tuesday, into Wednesday.
