Buffalo Bills Drops A Heartbreaking Game Against Philadelphia, Losing 13-12
With just two more games left in the NFL 2025/26 regular season, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles take a road trip to balmy Western New York to face the Buffalo Bills. This NFL Week Seventeen matchup is one of the many games that need to happen for the playoff picture to get a little clearer for both of these teams and the league generally.
For the Eagles, who have already clinched the NFC East, a win will help them keep a higher seed in the playoff rankings, while the Bills are still chasing the possibility of an AFC East title and potentially the 1st overall seed & the home-field advantage in the playoffs.
With cold temperatures and freezing rain, the game started slowly for both teams as the Bills and Eagles traded punts and big plays before a big first-quarter Josh Allen fumble put the Eagles in prime field position to put the first points of the game on the field. As the first quarter was coming to a close, Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts was able to find Dallas Goedert in the end zone for a touchdown.

The rain made ball hard to hold on to as both teams struggled to move the ball, and with several key defensive players out for the Bills, like Jordan Poyer, Jorday Philips, DaQuan Jones, and more, the Eagles were able to compile two scoring drives, allowing Philadelphia kicker Jake Elliott to kick a two field goals, for 47 and 28-yards respectfully, allowing Philly to take a 13-0 going into halftime.
The rain stopped for a little bit, but not all that long, as the second half started with more rain and some big defensive plays from both teams. After trading a series of punts, the Bills' defense stood up well to stop the Eagles in the third quarter, and the Bills won the first challenge of the year when Eagles Wide Receiver DeVonta Smith had a pass ruled a completion on the field, which was later overruled and turned into an incomplete pass.
Deep into the fourth quarter, the Bills' offense started to show some life after diving down the field to cap off a scoring drive with Josh Allen grabbing his 13th rushing touchdown of the season. The Eagles found a way to block Buffalo's extra point try, making the score 13-6.

After the Bills' defense stepped up and forced a three-and-out, the Eagles punted. The Bills' offense pushed the ball down the field to score a potential game-winning touchdown. Dawson Knox caught a pass that got the team to the 1-yard line, and Josh Allen got behind the Buffalo snow plow on the very next play to score his second rushing touchdown of the game.
In a gutsy move, the Bills decided to go for the two-point conversion, to either win the game by one point or lose by one point. Unfortunately, Buffalo was not able to convert the 2-pointer, and it was the last play for the Bills as they lost 13-12.
This loss by Buffalo against Philadelphia gives the AFC East title to New England. Now the Bills look forward to NFL Week 18 when they face the New York Jets in what might potentially be the very last game at original Highmark Stadium.
