It's sometimes easy to forget where the Buffalo Bills came from. The team is arguably the best in the NFL right now, but 10 years ago, they were one of the worst in the league.

The 17-year playoff drought looks like a distant memory ever since head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane took over in 2017. McDermott was hired in January of 2017, while Beane was hired in May of 2017.

Beane has overhauled the roster to make it a complete team on offense and defense. The best part about Beane is that he is a complete GM. He excels in drafting, free agency and trades; and also gets help from his staff on salary cap analysis and other personnel moves.

That's why Beane and his staff has recently been named the best front office in the league, by Pro Football Network, via Bills Wire USA Today.

Among Beane's first moves as Bills GM was getting rid of players who were part of the Doug Marrone or Rex Ryan teams, and building a team identity through the draft and free agency.

Beane's first NFL Draft was in 2018 and he absolutely nailed nearly every pick.

The Bills draft Josh Allen (1st round), Tremaine Edmunds (1st round), Harrison Phillips (3rd round), Taron Johnson (4th round), Siran Neal (5th round), Wyatt Teller (5th round), Ray-Ray McCloud (6th round), Austin Proehl (7th round).

Teller was traded to the Browns and became a Pro Bowl guard, while Phillips was a good defensive tackle and signed a new free agent contract with the Vikings in March.

Neal has become of the best special team players in the NFL and McCloud has stuck around in the NFL as a returner. Allen is a top three NFL quarterback, Edmunds is a Pro Bowl linebacker and Johnson is arguably the best nickel cornerback in football.

That's not even counting the drafts that followed and the excellent free agent signings.

Beane could be a lifelong GM with the Bills.
